Julia Sandler joined FBR as Special Counsel in January 2025. In that role, Julia litigates high-stakes commercial and financial disputes and appellate matters on behalf of a diverse clientele, including private equity clients, high-net worth individual investors, financial services professionals, and retail companies.

Prior to joining the Firm, Julia was an Associate at FBR’s predecessor firm, Fleischman Law Firm, joining in 2013, and representing clients in a variety of complex commercial matters, including business torts, contractual disputes, and securities litigation.

Julia served as an Assistant Crown Attorney in Toronto, where she prosecuted numerous trial matters and represented Ontario’s Attorney General in complex criminal appeals and applications before the Ontario Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Canada. She has also served as Legislative Counsel to a non-profit advocacy organization that addresses violence against women in the United States.

Julia is a graduate of York University in 2004 and the Osgoode Hall Law School in Toronto in 2002, where she was named a Dean’s Fellow and served as an editor on the Osgoode Hall Law Journal. In 2008, Julia received a Master of Laws from Harvard Law School, and is the recipient of numerous academic awards and scholarships.
